Eastern-inspired fashion along with its charming oriental vibes is slowly speaking up for itself in the fashion industry, becoming one of the main and most revisited sources of inspiration of the past decade. Rita Ora is just another artist, who chose to celebrate the Eastern culture through a fashion collection with Adidas, namely the Rita Ora x Adidas Originals spring 2016 line-up. It is not the first time Rita Ora and Adidas Originals get together to create a girl-power kind of collection, and Rita Ora seems to particularly enjoy exploring her creativity through this form of art.Entitled ‘Asian Arena’, the Rita Ora x Adidas Original spring 2016 collection features both exaggerated kimono sleeves and Asian street-style-inspired items, which will make anyone living in the Western world feel closer both to the congested streets of Seoul, Shanghai or Hong Kong, and the peaceful hills of Japan or even the Trường Sơn Mountains in Vietnam.
The capsule collection’s lookbook features the British singer wearing and showing off the proposals, which include minimalistic sneakers and athleisure-inspired pieces of clothing too. As those who usually follow Adidas proposals know, the label is particularly fond of all that is athleisure-related, and often makes sure its lineups have at least one or two items linked to the comfiest and fancier trend of all time. The ‘Asian Arena’ manages not only to create a more sportive point of view on the athleisure trend, but also to combine elements that are more characteristic of haute couture with those of the so-called ‘low fashion’.
At first glance the ‘Asian Arena’ might seem less wearable than the average Adidas Originals proposals, but one just needs a few seconds to fall in love with most of its items. Aside from the kimono t-shirts, maxi cardigans and pants, the collection features interesting camouflage leggings and classics, like the three-striped hoodies and simple t-shirts. As for the main colors used, Rita Ora tried to keep on with revisiting the label’s recent passion for camouflage, letting the motif get almost watercolored rather than purely military-inspired.
The evergreen Adidas Stan Smith sneakers got revisited and updated too thanks to an elegant suede burgundy material, which makes them even more delicate (and will be just perfect for pairing with basically anything, from boho-chic dresses to casual outfits). Burgundy is a key element within the collection, as it functions as the sole contrasting motif among the earthy-toned camouflage items. If you are looking for a pure athleisure-inspired pair of shoes, we recommend the Zx Flux sneakers, which might be less delicate in lines but definitely destined to become a must-have especially among those who deeply love the Japanese culture.
With prices that range from $15 to circa $100, the ‘Asian Arena’ line-up is quite affordable too, meaning that at least taking a look at its proposals is always a good idea.
