How cold do you think it gets during the New York Fashion Week? If you guessed below -15 degrees Celsius or around 5 Farenheit and below, you are correct! How on earth one manages to leave the house and function in that weather is beyond us, but what makes the whole thing all the more ludicrous is the type of clothing some of the It girls had chosen to wear, though we have our eyes glued to the super stylish and entirely warm outfits that some of the best appeared in, the winter freeze barely fazing them through it all.
While the upcoming weeks might begin to get warmer in Europe, New York does not show signs of thawing out just yet. Below are some of the coolest and most surprising New York Fashion Week fall 2016 street style looks we spotted this past week!As we watched the ladies cross their arms and try to ward off the chill, we could not help but take notice of some of the fashion statements being made throughout. Black is definitely a color many opted for sticking to leather or full with silver hardware on it, while gentler, beige camel and taupe colors were seen quite a bit of throughout. Combinations of black and white were to be expected, and blues also seemed to have a place on the streets.
Body hugging bottoms, whether it be tights, leggings or body-con pants all appeared in the crowds, with cool hats in knit tuques or caps also taking part. We saw fur stoles that caught our attention, and some of that lace fringed silk blend slips that totally capture the underwear as outerwear theme that was huge for the spring season. Lots of sunglasses and sturdy little handbags were also seen, in an attempt to bring spring home early.

We rather liked seeing the denim on the streets. It came in distressed looks and ankle crops, in tight stitches and baggy boyfriend designs, cuffed at the ends or scrunched at the ends, with high waists and hip huggers, in darker shades and classic blue washes, tucked into boots or worn with platform shoes. There are lots of ruffles and lots of skirts along with all the different pants, with a few really wacky individuals baring their feet with open-toe sandals instead of covering up with boots. We rather love the cashmere and shearling lined coats though, and positively in love with the colourful furs seen all around.
In terms of the footwear, we saw everything from sandals to thigh-high boots, chunky platforms and chunky heels, ankle boots and furry Mongolian style, pretty sneakers and laced up shoes. The styles were pretty awesome through and through and we can almost say that some of these outfits greatly overpowered the beauty of the collections shown indoors.
